Description

One of the very few books on Austrian-Hungarian fortifications, this book describes in great detail the fortifications built in and around the now Croatian town of Pola (Pula in Croatian). Dozens of (coastal) forts, batteries and other defenceworks were built in the area, often equiped with the most modern types of artillery weapons available at the time - with calibers up to 42 cm (42 cm - Haubitze M14, M16 and M 17).

The book not only describes the defences built in and around Pola, but it also lists the types of ordnance used, often illustrated with photos and / or technical drawings.

The book is illustrated with 150+ photos, plans, drawings and maps.  It is written in German.
