Description
The book describes Fort Zwijndrecht of the entrenched camp on the Left bank at Antwerp, Belgium. It was built in 1880 and it is the only Brialmontfort of the fortress Antwerp still in use of the Belgian Army. The fort is described in great detail - its history and architectural details, but also its artillery and armament as well as its role in World Wars One and Two. After World War two, the Fort Zwijndrecht was used as an ammunition storage facility. The book is written in Dutch entirely and is illustarted with 120+ photos, plans, drawings and maps. |
