The author starts out with the historical context of 20th century concrete fortifications, with emphasis on the developments in the 19th and early 20th century.

Next is a detailed inventory and description of remaining fortifications in the following municipalities: Den Helder, Haarlemmermeer, Muiden, Texel, Velsen, Weesp/Hilversum and Wieringen. Each object is described with the help of a map that shows the position of it. From here, the author zooms-in on the fortifications them selves. He describes them in detail, with the help of photos, floorplans, drawings and maps. All in all, this gives a quite comrehensive presentation of the remaining structures.

Written in Dutch and bound in a ringbinder, this is a great referencework for anyone interested in 20th century fortifications. The book is illustrated with MANY HUNDREDS of photos, drawings, plans and maps. It is in VERY GOOD shape and RARE!
