Description

The city of Utrecht played an important role during World War Two. Many high ranking officers as well as military organisations had their headquarters in the centre of the city.

To be able to offer these officers and organisations the maximum amount of protection possible, many bunkers were built in Utrecht. The headquarters of Gen. Kdo LXXXVIII, the General der Infanterie Hans Wolfgang Reinhard, the headquarters of the Festungs Pioniere (responsible for the design and construction of the Atlantic Wall in Holland) and the headquarters of the Admiral der Niederlanden (Navy!) were all situated in Utrecht. Many unique bunkers have been built for this purpose - bunkers were built nowhere else!

This book describes these bunkers in great detail - using photos, drawings, plans and maps. The book is written in Dutch and illustrated with more than 100 photos, plans, drawings and maps.
