About Fortress Books

Let me, first of all, welcome you to the website of our bookshop! As you can see, our bookshop has entirely specialised on books about military history. Our "specialisation within the specialisation" is books on fortifications of all times. We have the largest collection of this kind of books worldwide and we keep adding new titles to our catalogue. As soon as these new titles arrive, we will add them to our website, so please keep visiting us on a regular basis if you want to know all about new -or antiquarian!- books.

We started our bookshop in November 1997. Being a dedicated "fortification-freak" myself for the last 30 years or so, I noticed that more and more people are getting interested in fortifications and want to know more about the subject. In those days lots of new books on fortifications were being published by publishers worldwide. The problem for the hobbyist was -and still is: where can I buy these books?

The books are usually hard to find and also quite expensive if you have to order them individually from each publisher abroad. You can buy almost any book on fortifications published worldwide directly from us. If we don't have it already, we will try to locate it for you. Just try us!
