Previously unpublished collection of aerial and ground-level photos, drawings and texts from the Archives of the British Royal Engineers in Chatham, England. It portrays the Campania region in Southern Italy, in and around Naples, where, in 1943, defences were still being erected against the forthcoming Allied invasion. The reader gets a good impression of the character, organisation and construction of Italian and German World War Two fortifications in Italy.
