In this book you get an insight into the enormous building activity that was carried out by the German occupying forces during the war years 1940-45. At Sunnmøre, approx. 1700 construction works of different types, most of which are connected to the 11 coastal batteries and two air defense batteries that were built. These are located in a row from Helland in Haram to Hakallestranda in Vanylven. For Ålesund municipality, the book also contains a description of the largest tunnel facilities and some of the bunkers that were built.
