This book is the first volume in a series of four books about the history and characteristics of the French Maginot Line.

The book is divided in 3 parts. The first part of the book describes the political and military situation between 1919 and 1939 and the circumstances that led to the decision to build the Maginot Line. It also describes the design and construction of the Line.

The second part of the book describes the infantry troops that manned the Maginot Line - units, uniforms, equipment, armament, etc.

The third part of the book describes the troops, their officers, subalterns and men.

The book is written in French and illustrated with HUNDREDS of photos, plans, drawings and maps. The book is in VERY GOOD shape.
