It describes the history, planning, design, detail, organisation of the Wall. But it also describes the individual bunkers - gunsites, observation posts, command posts and other types, including special bunkers like the u-boat bunkers.

The author ends with describing some specific parts of the Atlantic Wall - the Pas de Calais batteries, the Channel Islands, etc.
