The book and CD start out with a short introduction on the historic fortifications of Palermo. In the text a word or location is highlighted. By clicking on the highlighted word the reader is shown a photo of the object.

The contents of the CD, however, is focussed on the Italian concrete World War Two fortifications that can be found all over the region around Palermo. Observation posts, machinegun bunkers, antitank bunkers, anti-aircraft batteries, radar stations, personnel bunkers, etc. They are all shown on the CD. The text in the book and on the CD is entirely in Italian. The CD contains HUNDREDS of photos - of which 99% is in full-colour. Interesting material on a fairly unknown part of fortification-history!
